What “emotion” recordings should I include to talk VB?

I have been thinking about making an UTAU VCV VB that is recorded in a high tempo and in a speaking tone to make a VB good for talkloid and HANASU.

Because in talking the vocal range is very limited than in singing, I won’t record multiple pitches (it’s pointless). Instead, I have been thinking about recording “talking” voice is many “emotion” as possible.

I have seen Voiceroid2 and CeVio talk voices, for example, have “angry” “sad” “happy” etc voices alongside normal/neutral voice of the character and user being able to control what “emotion” to use for the voice. (Because of UTAU limitations, the control of “emotions” would not be as smooth and detailed than in these two programs but I hope you get my point)

So, my questions are:

What voice “emotions”/“moods” would you like a talk voice to have? Please list as many as pop ups your mind that you would use!

Neutral, angry, sad, and whisper would probably cover all the bases. For the sad tone, I think it would be more expressive to sound as if the character is crying. A mild sad mood could probably be well expressed with the neutral tone and the appropriate pitchbends, so a separate sad set of recordings needs to be a bit more extreme.

Thank you for feedback! I was thinking how I would recreate “just little bit sad” vs “very sad that tears comes”. I didn’t remember that pitchbend was a thing (lol).

I guess it is the better to do an over exaggerated acting than just a little acting. Very slight tone change probably will not transfer well into UTAU which could make some “emotion” way too similar sounding.
