What Has UTAU Done for You?

I was in a sentimental mood and I realized, UTAU has done a lot for me.
There's the base stuff, like improving my drawing skills, but there's really life changing stuff too.

For example, I learned Japanese because of UTAU. Because I was learning Japanese, I met Wota. Because Wota dumped me, I started using @Skype and Skypemeet. Because I started using @Skype and Skypemeet, I met a lot of Japanese people who I now legitimately care about.
The connections I made (including the ones with all my UTAU friends, of course) are more valuable to me than any skill set I acquired through UTAU. I'll probably forget how to OTO in a few years, but I'll always remember how enjoyable it was to hang with my UTAU friends

So, What have you gotten from UTAU?

Correct pronunciation of Japanese syllables, Peaking my interest in the Japanese language, Taught me how to mix (Even though I still do a crappy job at it), Made my art 100% better (From all the covers, fanart, requests, and freebies I was doing over at DeviantArt), Made me become more open to communicate and make friends (Because before I was such a socially awkward twit that couldn't find the right words to say whenever pm'd), etc.

I've never really thought about it before but it's done a lot for me. I'm glad I joined this fandom. It's been fun.

I learned how to read and write Hiragana and I've also learned correct Japanese pronunciation. (I'm currently studying Japanese)
And now I can actually make sentences ;A; Without UTAU sparking my ... language learning interests I would still have ridiculously terrible pronunciation and I wouldn't be able to put together sentences for the life of me. xD
I've also gained some really awesome friends! And some people like you who helped me out a lot when I was first starting off with UTAU.

And off topic, omg omg okay Mae I'm sorry I was going to draw you Anaka back in like December and I never got around to it... ;A; I'm sorry djskaldjaslk
I even offered to do it so that makes me feel pretty bad
I will draw her! xD
I'm also making a cover with her~

Sorry for off topic-ness

But yeah basically, UTAU has gotten me friends and made me a lot better at Japanese, which makes me very grateful c:

Aww :D !! That's so sweet of you ; ; !!
Honestly, I haven't really been aware of anything since my junior year. (just graduated) Stuff kept coming up and making me a zombie :bigtears:
So the moment I saw that in December I thought "oh how sweeet!!" and forgot xD
Actually, at one point I found a picture of Anaka I didn't remember in my folder and said, "Oh yeah, that girl must have done it."

For me, UTAU is what really gave me an interest in music in itself. After starting to use the program I began to want to learn more about music theory and songwriting and rhythm and all that good stuff!

It err...helped me find my boyfriend ;///w///; //shot

Besides that, it's helped me find great friends, declare my love for music, & give me a resource to work on original music of my own, as well as improving my singing voice ouo also all that stuff said before. I can recognize hiragana, some katakana, & a few kanji, pronounce Japanese somewhat correctly I guess? & it really has piqued my interest in the Japanese language. It's a wonderful hobby, & the fandom has helped me grow as a person, & even though I don't do that much here like I used to, I'm forever grateful ;3;
