What do you think of these new changes? Does anyone object to a bit of affiliate marketing to help maintain the site?

I knew that there were new banners up top but then I went to a thread and saw them between posts. It kinda confused my reading flow.

I agree with this. Is there perhaps a more seamless way to involve ads in threads? I thought maybe text links, but nobody really pays attention to those.

Maybe instead of the ads looking like posts, they could just occupy space in between? I find myself getting confused mainly because they appear like posts, but they aren't.

UtaForum Changes for Weekend of 2015-02-20

Buckle down this is a long one. So many changes happened this weekend I put off making a post until I was done editing everything.

• Minor XenForo update to 1.4.5
  Minor update with some bigfixes and support for ReCAPCHA NoCAPCHA
• BBCode Media Pack Updated
  More sites, less errors, defered loading for faster loading/scrolling of media rich posts
• Added Bookmark Function
  You can now bookmark posts for later reading or reference via your Bookmark List.
• Added Similar Threads Function
  XenForo will attempt to show similar threads (based off of titles & tags) at the bottom of each thread.
• Added Calendar Function
  Using "Thread Tools" threads can now have events associated with them. Look forward to special community events the staff has planned.
• Updated Double Post Handler
  The double post handlers is less prone to errors and accidentally eating posts.
• Fixed Edit Permissions in Certain Forums
  Tutorials & Resource Directory, Support & Feedback & UTAU Roleplaying all have unlimited edit permissions.
• Fixed Thread Creation Permissions in Certain Forums
  New threads can no longer be manually created in Tutorials & Resource Directory & UTAU Showcase. You now MUST use the Resource Manager to create threads in those directories.
• Converted Old Tutorials & Resource Directory threads into Resources
  Select Tutorials & Resources from pre-XenForo UtaForum have now been updated into Resource Manager assets.
• Changed Supporter User Group Name Styling
  Members in the supporter group have had their names styled. For now its blingified, it may change in the future.
• Less Ads for Supporter Group Members
  The ads that appear on the 2nd post of threads and the sidebar of the index no longer appear to Supporters.
• New Help Pages Added
  Some of the new help pages include UTAU Usage Policy, Privacy Policy, User Group Permissions, and updated our Rules & Terms of Service
• Added new HR (Horizontal Rule) fake-BBcode Emote.

UtaForum Changes for 2015-02-26

• Help and Advice Thread Creation Unlocked
  This is a provisional change due to several users request after Tutorial & Resource directory was changed to a Resource Manager only subforum. We will test it out and see how it goes.
• [Add Resource] Button Added to RM Subforums
  Any subforum that has auto thread creation can now have resources made directly from that subforum. Should help eliminate some confusion on how those items are linked.
• Added "Featured Albums" Sidebar Widget
  Full details can be found in the Your Album in the Sidebar news post. Features community albums along with affiliate albums. Can be hidden using standard widget toggle function.
• New Icon-based Member Postbit
  The member info to the side of messages has been reworked to show user groups, post count, likes, and trophy points as icons.
• "Vocaloid" & "Other Synths" Forums Merged
  Since there was limited activity in both sections they have been merged together and mandatory thread prefixes have been added to help filter the different singthesizers.
• TaigaChatPro Updated from 1.3.0 to 1.4.1
  A variety of bug fixes, security patches, and speed optimizations. Full patch notes can be found here.
• DoublePostMerge Updated to 1.3.0
  Bug and compatibility fixes for our Double Post moderation plugin.
• Tweaks to Banner Ads & Rotations
  General advertisements have been tweaked so logged in users will see less ads and Supporters none at all.
• Added Death Ohagi Banner to the Rotation
