Also, as an add-on (I can't edit my previous post wth) I'm pretty friendly to most of the phonetics of Asian and European languages ^^

If you get a green name you can edit any of your posts at any time. ((Though personally I think this should just be standard for anyone.))

Isn't Tagalog and Filipino the same thing? (Unless you refer to dialects like Ilocano)

I am constantly learning Tagalog. (My parents are from the Philippines)

aparently it is encorperated, but some Fillipinos don't speak tagalog, i guess a lot of their words come from it though

Filipino is a national language, it basically incorporates aspects of the more popular dialects in the Philippines into one language that many people in the country can understand. Filipino is mostly based on Tagalog though due to its wide speaker base with minimal daughter languages, literary history, and being the language of most people in the capital city. Its dictionary is mostly borrowed from Tagalog, with some words from other dialects like Cebuano. It also borrows its phonology from Tagalog. So, while not 100% the same thing, they are very much related and sometimes the words are even used as synonyms.

You can read more about their relationship here.

One thing is for sure though, with pretty much the same phonology you don't need another reclist for Tagalog after recording a Filipino one. :3

"You speak filipino?" is same as "You speak tagalog?" because most foreigners only know one of our many dialects, which is tagalog, even though they're actually different.

I know Tagalog, well,

I understand it, but I can't speak it.

I'd say my Tagalog is just ok, like if I watch a Tagalog talk show or something I can at least understand the topic.
