    Many people say how much they wish they were around in the 2000s or 2010s, but I find they are generally too young or uninformed to realize just how bad those times actually were.

    The early 2000s were times filled with normalized bigotry and hate at every corner that would seem outrageous today. Magazines fat shaming women, a lack of diversity in everything from tv shows to books, general misogyny and homophobia, etc. It is amazing how much progress has been made since then.

    I myself am a fan of 2000s aesthetics and looks, but I feel like the better thing to wish for than a return to the 2000s would be a wish to return to the more visually pleasing and shiny style of old while maintaining the progress we have today.
