Confound these MMD Models

Okay so...I don't understand how the poo I'm supposed to make clothes fit on my MMD models. They always look lumpy and bad, and I can't even select specific parts to shape, because I have to turn the model to all these crazy angles just to prevent myself from selecting points on the front and back of the clothes and IT'S SO FRUSTRATING. ;A;

How do other people accomplish this madness!?
