hello! I am currently working on doing my first voicebank. Ive already watched some tutorials, and the VCV voicebanks sounds a lot more smoothier than the CV ones. But oto-ing it is the real problem.... For both options it already looks awful, but i am really looking foward to doing so.
So, dear UTAU enjoyers, which one do you think i should do? I need second opinions...
Thanks!!! :3

If this is your very first time making a voicebank, you can make a CV voicebank just for troubleshooting the overall technical process. There's no need to publicly release the voicebank, so long as you're able to learn how it works and fix any problems you run into.

After that, if you want to continue working on Japanese voicebanks, I recommend doing CVVC. There's much less recordings and otoing than VCV and it's still just as smooth. If you're using OpenUtau it's also just as easy to use the final voicebank as using a CV voicebank. Becoming familiar with CVVC will also help if you decide to make voicebanks for other languages.

You can check out a complete collection of reclists and base OTOs here.

Seconding Kiyoteru, also just so you know Moresampler (the resampler) can generate you a pretty good oto by dragging the folder with your recordings onto the exe file. It only works for VCV, CVVC and ARPAsing but can help you get to a nice starting point. Moresamp VCV otos are pretty alright, but you should probably tweak them afterward.
