Do you prefer people to ask first?

Do you guys prefer for people to ask you first before using your UTAU? Or how would you feel if some stranger commented on a video of your obscure UTAU and was like, "Hey, I'm gonna use her, 'kay?" ('Cause I just did that.)?
I usually feel really awkward using overseas UTAUs because overseas UTAUs all feel so personal. They almost seem to me like the creator is part of them and using one without making sure the creator knows first feels like drawing on someone's face while they're sleeping. (Does that make sense?)

Hmm, personally, I don't care if people ask me first. ^_^ However, if they do, I'm fine with that too.
Although, I think that if they publicly put their UTAU out there, they probably would be fine with it anyways. In fact, I know I for one get really happy whenever my UTAU is used. xD I'm sure they will feel the same!
I bet they will be extremely happy that you like their UTAU enough to use their VB. ouo

To prevent people making mine sing something I don't like (ex: songs of attack or slander towards a person) that's what the 'terms of usage' or whatever that I bundle with them is for.

I don't mind at all. Personally I really don't see why you would need to ask, I mean, UTAUs are made to be used, right?

I don't mind since nobody uses them XD But I love when people show me what they've covered, I think everyone likes it when his/her utau is used uvu

If someone publicly releases their UTAU, I'm pretty sure they're ok with it. Plus I like surprising people. I haven't made something and had someone say "OMG I DIDN'T WANT YOU TO USE MY UTAU GOD"

Well, I woudln't mind if someone used my UTAU even if he/she didn't ask before using him. But I wouldn't mind if they would inform me of ome new covers or such that they used Merulo for. Because, I would like to watch/see it whatever they made.
But anyway, I wouldn't be much adverse if they use him without asking me but I would be pissed off if they copied his audio recorded voice, MY VOICE, and then take the credit for it... even if it's not her/his voice... then I would be really mad... like, really reaaally mad.... X) Or even his style or make him sing songs that don't really suit his voice... if someone can mix well and knows how to use him then it's fine... just follow the 'Term of USage' and it's all purrfect~

Personally, I love it when people use them without warning, because surprise covers seem to make me more excited haha I honestly don't mind if people ask me though, since it does give me the opportunity to mention any tics in the voicebank or settings i may have left out of the readmore

Personally, I love when people use my UTAU voicebank without asking me first, no matter how worse the voicebank is, as well as they follow my "terms of use" and UTAU usage policy.

Even some of them tell me that Kaizern's voice is so nice - something that I found weird because I never found someone who love her voice and I like their response towards the voicebank. It always encourages me to keep improving her voicebank and making cover/original songs.

If I make the bank freely available, then it won't bother me if someone uses it without permission. I don't think an overseas bank should be given more deference than any other so long as (sensible) TOU for that particular bank applies. Sensible as in 'the bank is underage, please don't let them sing Wash my Blood or something sexual.' I don't define sensible as in 'my bank is this sexuality and identify as this gender, please only have them sing songs with these kind of banks and this kind of theme, etc. etc.'

If I were to upload a voicebank and make it publicly downloadable then I would be expecting people to not ask tbh.
The only situation where I would expect people to ask is if the usage of that voice may be questions by the terms of it.

I don't mind that people don't ask at all, though I do prefer that someone would ask if they were to, say, use it in something being sold for money, Y'know, kinda like a safety thing I guess.

Either way, there's something exciting about someone using your own UTAU! That warm fuzzy feeling...especially if it's out of the blue!

personally, i wouldn't mind if someone asked or didn't ask, but i'd like to be directed to the video to see what someone did with my utau :D and generally, people don't release an utau and not wanted them to be used...
