My UTAU won't sing short notes, how can I fix this?

Well I've looked all over for an answer... but I can't find it :\

My UTAU, Reiki, doesn't like singing shorter notes. For long notes she's fine like in God Slaying Machine and Servant of Evil but when I get her to sing a fast paced song like Black cats of the Eve or Meltdown she can't sing the short notes and emits a high pitched/loud static noise.

The only way I've found of fixing this is changing the lyrics to just vowels Ex. Ta -> A, O -> Wo, Chi -> I but it's tiring to do and if I put her up for download I don't want people to have to worry about changing lyrics too much... or for her to kill peoples ears :bigtears:

I don't know if it's because I pronounce my consonants to hard (like my t 's and s 's) or if it's something I did with her Oto.ini :cynical:

Did anyone else have this problem? Can anyone help?

It'll be the oto, probably. Mind taking a screenshot of the oto for "ka", "shi" and "chi" for me?

They're off! You're cutting off part of the consonant, one, and the red line (preutterance) doesn't start at the vowel on any of them. on Chi it's in front of the start of the vowel and the important part of the CH is cut off, on Shi the SH is cut off by the overlap and the preutterance is past the beginning of the vowel, and on Ka the preutterance is a fair deal in front of the vowel again.

Making sure you've cleared the UST, the preutterance part will be what's causing not all of the sound to be pronounced. On really fast songs, you might also want to put about 150-190 in the consonant velocity box in the fast phrases.

Oh so the preutterance is supposed to be on the start of the vowel, Like the 'i' in 'Chi', instead of before them?

That must've been what I was doing wrong :\
Thank you so very much for the help
