WoofMatcha

Momo's Minion
Hi UtaForum! I'm WoofMatcha, this is my very first time wanting to make an UTAU voicebank..
But I have no idea to do the recording, I've got reclist on Romaji (cuz I can't read Japanese letters like Hiragana and Kanji).
And I need a guidance for the steps..

Btw sorry if this post is kinda looked messy.

I'll share some info about my voicebank.. the artwork was unfinished yet because I'm also still learning at drawing, though I'll not share it yet because the character is unfinished (still not having side and back view or even an outfit and tail) and also to prevent AI theft...

Name: 春風抹狼 [Harukaze Matsurō] (I asked ChatGPT for help on the name that having theme of spring/summer)
Name Meanings: Haru (春) – Means "spring," symbolizing renewal, warmth, and fresh beginnings. It connects to nature and a gentle, youthful feeling as the voicebank's result.
Kaze (風) – Means "wind," evoking a free and flowing essence, as well as movement and dynamism as the voicebank was made for (a.k.a can be tuned into realistic or not depends on the producer's preferences).
"Matsu" (抹) relates to "matcha" (抹茶), the powdered green tea, and "rō" (狼) denotes "wolf."
Stage Name: 青狼抹狼音 [Seirō Matsurōne]
Age: 19-22
Height: 5'4" / 162 cm
Weight: 112.44 lbs / 52 kg
Fur color: matcha green, green and white
Sex: Male
Pronouns: He/Him
Birthday: 20 July
Species: Werewolf (Didn't have a human form, this is his real look) [yeah, he's a furry voicebank or furloid]
Voicebank Languages: Japanese

He was came as a joke OC to responding my friend joking that he'll use my voice to make me sounding like singing, and now I'm thinking about it and trying to have fun on new stuffs..
So that's why I'm just wanting to try it.. and once it's released in public too, I might trying my best to improve it and then later port Matsurō into DeepVocal with a slightly different voice. Cuz I've already planning to make some character development for him.

Btw I've already prepared OREMO and also OpenUTAU (cuz UTAU might not work on my laptop with Windows 11 24H2), I just having no idea on how to read the reclist and doing more advanced stuffs. I've tried to search on YouTube on the guide but I haven't understand yet.. and I don't know my vocal range LOL
And I can't do a "rolling R" because my tongue is kinda stiff LMAO

Btw the reclist that I want to use is from this: https://yinsototutorial.weebly.com/yins-custom-lists.html
I pick cvvc_8mora_romaji_simplified.

If this is your first voicebank, I'd recommend doing a cv voicebank and not a cvvc voicebank for now. But either way, what exactly about the recording and reading do you struggle with?

Yes, this is my first time.
I don't understand to read the reclist, there's some symbols like the underscore and stuffs.

I mean on this parts:

_a・i・u・e・o・n・a
_a-a-i-a-u-e-a

I don't know the hyphen and underscore means, also this too ・ (idk what it called).
I'm really not understand the symbols means.

But on CV reclist is just having hyphen and underscore, maybe you're right..
I might try CV first... and I still need to figuring out things too, alongside finishing the artwork.

(Btw sorry for late responses because I'm on Asia so... different time zone. And the post that I made is on 3 AM cuz I'm still not sleeping that time.)

The hyphens and underscores typically mean to carry the sound, so basically just pretend they aren't there. I don't know why they'd add bullet points as well, but they probably either mean the same thing or a short gap. Either way I wouldn't recommend recording a cvvc voicebank anyway due to you being on the newer side and how difficult they can be to make.

Bullet points are for glottal stops, when your vocal chords (??? i don't know what else they're called) slam shut in the middle of saying something, like in 'uh-oh'. They're usually not necessary

Anyways, I have a question about pitch...
For a beginner... which is the good one? Multipitch or monopitch?

Monopitch. Multipitch is not "a" pitch, it is recording multiple pitches as the name suggests. So multipitch is "multi"ple times harder.
