PV Help/Question

I apologize that this isn't directly UTAU related, but it's PV related, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

I've only seen one other person do the effect other than the original video (The video in question is "The Path to Happiness, I Found It")

At about 2:11 it starts doing the 'game' between both Miku's and words drop down. I know how to make words move if I try to replicate this, but I wasn't sure about the whole like... blinking/flashing thing when the words hit the line, or if there was anything specific I should try doing in AE to achieve the effect.

I had thoughts about it, but they seemed really complex and knowing myself I thought maybe there was an easier way and that I was going about it all wrong.

I don't know how it works either, but since I'm been wondering as well, I asked TSO about it, here is her reply:

Well,you want to know such a Effect like "Beatmania" right?

I think, these motions made by hand...
I try to tell you how to make it.


■You have to make 2 objects.
　1,dropdown word objects.
　2,combo text(GREAT~)objects.

step1,dropdown word objects.
First,Make a motion with Keyframe.
When object on the Line,Use Fill effect(Generate>Fill)
and change color white.and delete it.
Copy this layer and change the words if you want.


step2,combo text(GREAT~)objects.
Create a Text,Use Strobe Light effect(Stylize>Strobe Light)and Fill effect(Generate>Fill).
Copy this text layer and change combo numbers if you want.

step3,Adjust objects timing on timeline.
dropdown words →　disappear → combotext (Great2)
dropdown words →　disappear → combotext (Great3)
dropdown words →　disappear → combotext (Great4)

again and again and again...

It's hard to explain...

I haven't tried it out yet, but she's a pretty good PV maker (she made Synchronicity 3, Ikasama Casino, Bad End Night series etc) so I think she knows what she's talking about ^^
