I know it's not S-CVVC (hoshi cvvc english being a trainwreck in the corner)
VCCV english will literally take up half of my life
Arpasing has been unreliable for me in the past (why the hell does hoshi arpasing sound so weird in openutau like ewww)
VCV-E would also take up half my life
CV english is terrifying to me/j

DELTA English is probably your best best. List 7 is really, really short.

There's no clear answer for what reclist to recommend because they each have their strengths and flaws. It depends on what your needs are, what your goal is and how much effort you want to put into it...

English isn't an easy language to record in, and depending of how much coverage you want in your voicebank, it will take a lot of time and effort and storage space.

well, i can say that i need an efficient English reclist, that won't take half my life to record and that ends up sounding at least somewhat understandable. Oh, and it should have a base oto so i don't die trying to alias everything.

DELTA is multiple different reclists, and it's all dependant on how well you record and oto it. It's originally Japanese but TUBS made a translation of it here.

MEL (Mae's English List) has base oto for both the words list and regular list.
https://utausnr.blogspot.com/p/maes-english-list-resources.html

Edit: There are about 330 lines to record in the MEL words list, and about 68 in the regular list without addons (but the strings are longer in the regular list).
Edit2: With addons, the amount of recordings for the regular list would be about 116 total.

You use mkototemp to generate a base oto.

Also, I have an English reclist in testing and need a voice provider, if you would be interested. It’s a little over 300 samples long and split up like VCCV English.

I also have some addons for MEL English (adds consonant-diphthong and diphthong-consonant sounds to make the voicebank smoother and easier to use) that will set the amount of lines to OTO from 600 to 1000, however a bulk of these files are multilingual extras, redundant English extras, and "VCV" sounds for gliding consonants, which will make the amount of recordings and OTOing lines signifcantly smaller.
