- likely already said, but i don't care for multipitch lol
i know there's circumstances where having multiple pitches can make things sound really nice, but a monopitch that's done well can be just as appealing imo.
i guess my only real quarrels with it is that it's the "standard" these days, and to me, it's just extra work. i guess that makes me lazy, but again, i don't really think it's necessary if a good monopitch can sound fine as well.
- (really unpopular but i'm biased because ive done it lol) i don't hate "altered" banks. altered, being that the sound files have been enhanced (pitch changing, equalization, etc) i think that if it's done right and sounds believable, there's nothing wrong with it. i mean i suppose it's in best interest to have always have "raw" samples, but idc if it's altered so long as it sounds fine. these things usually make banks sound bad or less realistic so i can understand why it's looked down upon, but ye.
- idk if this is unpopular or not, but i literally don't care about design or names at all. i've seen people saying it's bad to have a "vocaloid" inspired design for their utau, but there's nothing wrong with it to me?? idk i was a young kid when i got into this stuff, and i thought teto was a vocaloid at one point lol. i like it, actually, when utaus have appealing designs like this. (ofc it has to be done WELL, that's my catch) but if it's ORIGINAL and doesn't look bad, who cares. (ofc i mean the character is original- original hairstyle and colors, not DIRECTLY STEALING vocaloid elements lol)
other things i don't care about are names and stuff (specifically "-loid" endings) i mean sometimes if it's cringey, it's ehhh but i typically have no quarrels with it. let people do what they waaannnntttt
i retired the -loid name my utau used to have because it was making me cringe lol but still, no reason not to use the bank if it sounds fine.
i guess that's all i have to say about these things. thanks for reading if u diiiiddddd
