Hey all! Fun little discussion thread here-

My question is : What UTAU do you think pushes the limits of the UTAU software and sounds the most realistic?!

This is opinions only- so don't get all feisty with each other!!! LOL

My vote is - ALYS ! Her old bank sounded super nice and realistic.

Then again, ALYS was (probably) recorded in a professional studio so that's probably why.

I'd say Renri, though I have only a little experience using her, she seems one of the most easy to make realistic sounding and also seems to be among most people's first pick for a realistic vocal.

Her breaths and vocal fry probably add to a lot of that

This tuning video that I've kept bookmarked for years

I have no idea which utau was used but she sounds gorgeous with simple pitchbends

Oh! I do remember this too!

I looked up and this VB is someone's 自作音源 aka in English "self-made voicebank" which seems to... Not have an official avatar or name. Also, this VB seems to be private as well... (why??? I would loved to use it T T)

I think any voicebank recorded on decent equipment can sound pretty realistic

It just takes some extra effort to bring it the extra mile.

I think in terms of "how easy it is to make them sound realistic", from the ones I've worked with my picks would be Yamine Renri, Mawarine Shuu, various Kohaku Merry voicebanks, Anna Nyui's vivid bank, Number Bronze, Akesato, Koharune Ami, Karashine Akito, Zuiga Mizuki, and... most of the Saltpan UTAU (Shione Lt, etc.)

Honestly it's like caustic said; heck, I've made my own UTAU sound pretty realistic, main reason being that I could get decent sample quality with the mic I use

Like everyone else, I think that Yamine Renri and Gahata Meiji are the most realistic sounding UTAUs out there. But, I do think that Ritsu and Ruko are too; it most likely depends on how they were tuned.

Going by that logic, any bank kyaami, akem, and steel uses as well
Dont hate me but I dont think kyaami is that great...oh well...off topicness yes...

Funny thing is that those "normal user" banks (tho they are all recorded with professional assets) sounds easily or more realistic than, for example, Windows' 100% UTAUs, or then than the Tohoku sisters...they all are good UTAU but getting HQ results with Renri, for example, seems to be way easier...
