Multi Pitch Or Many Appends?

So, I would really love to know which bank you are most likely to use; A multi-pitch bank (core, and 3 pitches above and below) or multi mono or dual pitch appends (solid, sweet, soft, hard, cute, cold, warm, whisper, power, dark, etc. Etc.)

Personally, I prefer having the appends, but I want to see which you all would prefer most.

I enjoy either, to be honest. Having many pitches is really nice for songs with large ranges but when it comes to very dynamic songs that require a myriad of voice types such as going from soft and calm, to powerful and solid. Though, most of the time I find I'm attracted to voice banks that have many appends with lots of pitches for each append. I like this mainly because, let's say that you make an UTAU sing a song like Goodbye April Doppel can still sound nice in both the high range, and low range while still sounding soft at the same time. I don't know, that's my opinion though.

I see your point; like going from a soft, delicate voice to a quiet power type?

I love both, to be honest. I love multi-pitch banks since they can hit a broader range in a song, whereas a mono-pitch would eventually become strained and almost robot-y as it goes too high or low. I also love how much one can adapt appends to fit songs of different atmospheres but still be the same character.
A voicebank with many different appends and pitches for those appends may be a lot of work, but can also be very worth it for the same reasons that Haejin pointed out.

I would have to say appends over multipitch. Being able to change tones easily is more my style than using a preset set of tones depending on pitch.

But what I prefer is having multipitch banks with multiple tones/appends.
It gives you a wide range, while also giving you the choice of tone per pitch. Some example VBs would be Anna Nyui Bouqet, Meiji Gahata Fantasy, and Renri Yamine's 1.5 VB.

I hope this makes some sense, as I'm not quite sure how to explain my opinions properly.

It's really fantastic to do both multipitch and multiexpression, however, it's a lot of work and it takes up a lot of space. When it comes down to choosing one or the other, I'd prefer multi-expression, unless the range of the original bank is especially bad (ex. a very light soprano bank that can't go lower than C4)

I enjoy multiple appends over miltipitch. Since you can only do so much with a multipitch bank in terms of finding fitting songs, while appends give you more room for soft and rock songs.

I prefer multipitch over appends because I can alternate between pitches and edit prefix map to change tone.

I prefer multipitch because it improves the range of the voice and more often then not the appends aren't very useful (too exagerated, abnormal, etc).
