My oto.ini file disappeared (but simultaneously also not???)

Like the title says, the oto.ini file for my UTAU I'm currently working on disappeared from his voicebank folder, but at the same time it's still on my computer. I can still see it in my recent files and edit it in the UTAU program, but it's not visible when scrolling through the voicebank folder, typing for it in the search bar in the folder yields no results, and every time I try to open it my computer says it's deleted even though it's very much not.

This is where it's located btw.

Any kind of help is appreciated, and thanks in advance

Have you tried dragging it back in to see if it pops up as having another file with the same name?

Also, have you tried seeing if you have any parameters set in file explorer?

I don't know exactly what you mean by this, but I tried dragging it back into the voicebank folder from my recent files and I got this popupScreenshot 2025-04-27 200326.png

My advice is to make a copy of the text inside, create another plaintext (.txt) file and name it oto.ini , drag it in and when prompted, replace the file in the destination

So sorry I couldn't be of much assistance! After a long day of tech support, I can no longer support the tech adequately

I would highly recommend moving the entire UTAU folder somewhere outside of Program Files to prevent issues with file access.

As in the voicebank? Or do you mean a folder containing UTAU and all of its related files? I don't have a UTAU folder because it breaks the program whenever I try to make one

You may need to reinstall UTAU to repair your installation. Move your voicebanks to a temporary location before running the installer. Afterwards, move the resulting UTAU folder containing the program and all of its associated files to somewhere like Documents. You can put your voicebanks back in place there.
