Contest Want to have a Tuning Contest/Festival?

So like, I've almost got my video for the free song done (I also used screencap before seeing you linked a plugin specifically for UTAU capturing OTL)
Will we also have a mylist on NND? If so, should we also agree on a japanese tag for our videos?

Free song? Did you guys already choose an optional song somewhere? O.o

I'm still not 100% completely sure what mylists are other than being a playlist. Other people (if the mylist setting is set so) can add their own videos there, right? Because I wish YouTube playlists could do that so we wouldn't have to find someone to compile them manually.

And since 81% of the current votes say that someone should compile them, does anyone want to volunteer? I can't access YouTube and Nico at school despite having the opportunity to be frequently online.

Yes, you can have public mylists. I would offer myself to compile all of the songs, as long as people hit me up with their links!

After some research on the japanese tuning festival, I would propose to use

海外組調声晒し祭り１６夏_歌

as the tag for the NND videos. It has 海外組 overseas group to show that it was initiated by the overseas part of the community, 調声晒し祭り for tuning festival, １６夏 for summer 2016 (since I guess we could hold another one in winter lol) and _歌 at the end to specifically tag the songs

Then again, having two tuning festivals a year could have a "refresh" period in between.

depends on what you need. if it's got to be a synthesized-voice introductory video, that's niche. but i'm pretty sure most people have no trouble whipping up some sort of announcement video; speech over a static image, w/e. if you tell me what to say i can record a video quickly on the phone and get it put up (better than nothing,) but at that point, what's to stop you from just making it yourself?

She's only doing the talkloid part of the video - the audio.
The video itself, no one as the volunteers have yet to confirm whether they want to make it or not.

I feel like if this happened it would be better if the name were shorter, like TuneFest or something like that. using the whole tag "【UTAUTuningFestival2016】" would probably get most of the title of the song cut off on youtube.

How about 【UTAUTuningFest2016】 or maybe 【UTAUTuningFest】 since others might not get that "Tune" means "tuning" and might think it's an original song festival?

I also added a deadline where the optional song will be chosen if a songs gets voted for at least 12 times. Hurry and vote so the tuning festival can start sooner!

Since it's been voted that the festival will be year-round, will the tag become "海外組調声晒し祭り１６_歌" instead?

While Cynic has already 12 votes, I will keep the poll up until the weekend ends. You can always change your vote or nominate another song last-minute if you want!

While no one nominated any optional English songs, the chat gave suggestions which really helped a lot. Here are the songs I considered (along with other songs I searched that fit the criteria):

Convergence by Zoku ft. Equinox
Remnants by Negai ft. Minarai Mona
There Will Be War by DystoP ft. Daisy
Karma by CircusP ft. Kagamine Rin
Different Seas by CircusP ft. DEX
Pushing Daisies by Kenji-B ft. DAINA

Because of how there are currently 6 different songs to choose from, I won't put a limit on how many votes a song needs to have; instead, I will give the poll a solid deadline of it ending exactly 25 days from now.

There are also other songs that I considered that a lot of you may like but did not fit the criteria:

My Impulse by Kenji-B ft. DEX
- The song is suited more for a powerscale voicebank
Me Rindo by Aku P ft. Mike (links to a cover using the English lyrics instead)
- The song is suited more for a powerscale voicebank
Deja Vu by CircusP ft. Hatsune Miku & Megurine Luka
- A duet may not be that suited for a first-time Tuning Festival
- The available UST may take time to convert since the aliasing is different from most VCCV English voicebanks

However, since these songs are so popular, I will add them into the poll if at least two different people nominate them.

There are also other concerns on how the available USTs for some of these songs (and Cynic) have fully-tuned USTs, but I will be trusting the community to not just plug-and-play or to remove pitchbends before tuning.

I would really love others to butt heads with me on the song criteria, by the way
