How old were you when you found UTAU and Vocaloid?

My best friend at the time got me into Vocaloid and UTAU when I was 12 in 2011. She'd show me all the mainstream songs like World Is Mine, along with Kasane Teto covers of said songs.

I found Vocaloid when I was 10 on accident (it was in my suggested videos). My first song was World Is Mine then I kept watching more and more. I thought Vocaloid was an anime band or something so I looked it up and got hooked. I found UTAU the same time and I thought they were they were part of Vocaloid until I looked that up too. Before I knew they were separate, I asked my dad to get me Teto for christmas because she was my fave.
I didn't start using the software(s) until 2011~ though.

*sigh* Looking back I was such a little weeb...

I was 14 years, still a freshman in high school. One of my friends at the time showed me Judgment of Corruption by Mothy. I was blown away by the vocals when she told me a computer was singing it. Then I dug more and more in and found out about more Vocaloids and, eventually, Utau. And almost a year later I released Equinox. Two years later, I've become completely engrossed by the community and I'm questioning all my life decisions I couldn't ask for anything else.

It was 2007 (I was 11), Miku had been out for a few months and I think it was news of her release. It's been long enough that I actually can't remember exactly how I got into vocaloid.
UTAU was through Teto, Teto's territory to be exact. I think it was 2010-ish (14 years old).

I think my sister and I were around middle school to early high school when we were first introduced to Vocaloid and UTAU (a.k.a. our cringeworthy years!). During that time, GUMI and SONiKA weren't revealed yet. It wasn't until 2009 when my sister officially got into UTAU; I followed afterwards around 2011.

I was about 14 when i got into Vocaloid, i was listening only to the mainstream songs and I didn't really understand how the software worked, i thought Vocaloids were 100% robotic voice with no voice providers xD Glad those times ended.:uhm:
Shortly after this i discovered UTAU and got to know how those softwares really work! I got really into Vipperloids and i could watch UTAU medleys all day, yet i still didn't know how to use UTAU properly, all these vb types, flags, resamplers, otos and everything were like dark magic to me, so i didn't even dream about making my own UTAU. Now, since 2 years passed from the time i started using UTAU, i understand most of things and even made my own UTAUloid :sing:I'm trying my best to get better at tuning now.

I found Vocaloid like the week before Kiyoteru, Miki & Yuki were revealed, so I think I had just turned 9, And I discovered UTAU sometime during mid 2010 so I was 10 at the time.
I remember trying to install UTAU on my dad's computer, and he thought it was a virus of some kind, so instead he downloaded some old karaoke program from 2004 for me to use instead lol. I think I ended up installing it anyways and hiding the UTAU folder somewhere in his harddrive because I was a little demon and wanted to use the program soooo bad.
For some reason, I thought that the only sample you needed to record was "Do Re Mi Fa So La Ti Do" (all stringed together), and UTAU would generate a voicebank off of that. Needless to say, I was disappointed when my voicebank with 1 sample (saved as an aud. file bc I was using audacity ofc) couldn't sing along to Paramour...

Probably around 2009 (was born in 2000, so I was 9), but I didn't get into it until 2012, and I actually got VOCALOID in 2014, haha... I knew about UTAU in about 2013, but had no idea how to actually use it, then tried a few years later, which is last year. Aaand here I am now-

I was so weeby, I thought Tokyo Teddy Bear(my first Neru song) was actually written by Akita Neru. I can't believe how stupid I was.

I actually did that too. *cringes* There was a short period of time (about six hours lol) when I thought that Miku and the others were actual people who creates anime personas of themselves with voices (I have no idea what I was thinking back then lol)

Welp, I was 10 years old when i first discoved Vocaloid. It was a Hatsune Miku concert and because I was a kid. I HATED her voice. I thought it was to squeaky so yeah xD Then around when I was 12 years old. I was watching finebros when I saw "Kids react to Hatsune Miku" I then went through the comments section and discovered Daughter/Servant of evil.

Since I was so addicted to it, I showed it to all my friends until a friend of mine introduced me to Story of Evil. I got curious and explored around until I found Evillious Chronicles, YamaShizuku's works and others like Meltdown, World Is Mine, Dancing Samurai....etc...

Years pass by and I saw a throwback memory of mine from FB about vocaloid, got interested and got addicted to EC all over again...so yeah...again, with a curious mind, I kept exploring and exploring till I found UTAU....

I was 10 (2010 ^-^)
I stumbled across a World is Mine (probably the song that almost everyone heard first) concert when i was 10 and was like "What sorcery is this?" I immediately fell in love with everything about her and looked for other stuff, then stumbled upon 'Magnet' and fell adored Miku AND Luka afterwards.

I searched some other songs (almost all of them were Vocaloid) then came across an UTAU cover which was terrible... So I thought that Vocaloid was best and nothing else could beat it.

After around 6(?) years of not being concerned with UTAU, I stumbled across a kyaami cover a few months back and I realized that UTAU might not be as bad as I thought (added the fact that I wanted to Own a vocalsynth so badly, I gave it a shot).
I'm glad that I was wrong.

When I was around 10 years old....:uhuhu:
One of the first songs I stumbled across to was iNSaNiTY by Circus-P, and man, I was obsessed with it, it was my favorite song at the time in 2013, I'd listen to many covers of it, and I started listening to more songs, like Bad Apple (I know it's not VOCALOID but there were many covers of it), World is mine, and others (I can remember the first UTAUs I listened too were Teto, Ritsu, Ruko, Tei, and Rook (the first VOCALOIDS I listened to were the "Big 8" and SeeU and IA), I'd always listen to those covers when I play minecraft sometimes). And then I started to get more interested into other UTAUs and VOCALOIDS and thus was the day I joined both communities. And it was all because I liked to watch MLP videos on youtube at the time....And if it weren't for that, I'd probably not be here XD

I think I was 10 (I'm almost 14 now, so in 2013) when I first learned about it and that was because I used to play Minecraft, especially on this one server where half of the users liked VOCALOID/UTAU and I became friends with them (and still am, thank god)
and then I started using UTAU in 2014 and bought MEIKO V3 in probably 2015

The first Vocaloid song I heard was iNSaNiTY on Flipnotes, on my DS in 2011-2012 I was 11-12.. But the first UTAU song was in 2015, which was a cover of Undead Enemy, covered by WALTT,

I found it when I was thirteen back in 2009-2010, I loved vocaloid and then I found Teto, I flipped. It was so cool that I could make my own, so I did and I showed my friend at the time and made a whole group. I really miss those days
