I've been busy with work so I haven't been online a lot.
But, you guys are lucky, being smaller is easier than being bigger. You can always make something smaller to fit instead of making it bigger. Plus bigger girls don't have as many choices when it comes to buying brand since they mostly sell in like, one tiny size. x.x
But anyways, it's a good motivation to lose some weight.

Oh, I don't know if you could detach the bow on the JSK. I'd assume so but maybe not? Wasn't trying to say either way, hah, just that the skirt's looked more suited for it. Bodyline is also very well known for having awful stock photos as I think it's been mentioned in this thread - I'd go by whatever you see in real photos rather than their stocks.

The yen trick is easy once I found it. When you're on Bodyline's Overseas section, click an area like Shoes. Now look at the very top of the page above everything. Change the US Dollars to Yen. Now every page you surf will have the yen price and it's cheaper! Even the shipping is - in USD it's $10 anywhere, in JPY it's $7.50.

Oh yeah, everyone has been salivating over Crystal Dream Carnival. I think it's really pretty, just slighlty too loud for me. And the price tag is painful. I have actually been liking some of Angelic Pretty's more toned down items lately, and their turtleneck cutsews/knits they release every now and then make me cry at how perfect and for me they are but how expensive they are. I kinda refuse to buy Brand blouses unless they are stupendously unique (You guys should check out Angel Fish, they're a bit more otome than lolita but they have some of the most unique and gorgeous blouses I've ever seen for around $80-90 and I think they're actually worth it).

It's best to be average really since Brands are catering more towards that these days. I'm often a bit too small for some one size only releases, looking through Lolibrary. It is a shame though that when the Brands tried to sell larger sizes it didn't work out so they no longer do.

HMHM should be great for blouses, I've heard good things about them. Though with HMHM and Kidsyoyo watch out because they're known to make the occasional replica piece if that bothers you, and almost never touch Dream of Lolita who make pretty much exclusively replicas that often aren't very good.

While I don't think brand blouses would be too bad, I think having things like brand bloomers and brand petticoats is kinda pointless. You could totally get those things off-brand for less or even sew them yourself! For great quality too(if you know where to shop)!

I'm not really sure how to help out bigger girls with sizing, though. Perhaps you can look for brand with custom sizing? They're usually indie brands...and I bet you probably know this already, but shirring adds stretch. Sadly, shirring only goes so far! I guess the human size extremes will always be disadvantaged! ;_;

It's strange though...there's more guides out there for plus-sized lolita than tiny lolitas...I guess it's because it's assumed that Japanese women are tiny? But even then, the clothes lean more towards the middle. Either way, it'll be difficult to find a blouse that flatters me.

Well another reason I think that there is so much plus-sized advice (especially in English communities, maybe it's less of a thing in Asian communities) is that Lolita is very expensive and most are in their 20s so they are full grown adults. While yes there are teen lolitas they lack the buying power of adults.

Hmm I know Anna House does custom, Bodyline has larger sizes, check Clobbaonline? He lists whether or not a brand/item can be custom sized so that might help since Taobao is hard to translate. And most very indie brands can custom size.

Good point. Adults have more body fat/bulk/size than lanky teenagers.

The dress is coming second hand from another girl, but I believe it might be Dream of Lolita, but it looked really good in the pictures which is why I liked and wanted it. I know LaceMarket doesn't allow replicas because that's where the dress was listed originally and the mods deleted it. I suppose I'll use Ebay or the buy/sell/trade threads on /cgl/ if I need to get rid of it.

Those are some sweet coords right there! I think the trick is that it has to be simple, but not boring. It's like the age ol' dilemma of character design where the outfit must be coherent and simple, yet it cannot be just another t-shirt/jeans combo, you know? That is to say, those are great coords!

Now onto the serious question of the day: Should I consider wigs?

It was something I started to wonder after my friends jokingly asked about it. I have a short pixie cut, so it doesn't leave too much room for any variation aside from perhaps hair chalk and hair accessories. But then, aren't wigs uncomfy? Will people still recognize me with a wig on? I mean, people recognized me even when I cut off all my hair. I can't imagine that the bullying could be all that bad, there are lots of girls in my school who dye their hair like every single day. But yet again, that's normal hair.

It's such foreign territory for me, wigs. I find my self everyday kinda leaning more and more towards OTT sweet hahaha. Wigs are scary. welp

Well if you don't mind it being a replica, like the condition, and trust the seller, you can if you'd like. $60 is a pretty low price for lolita but pretty normal for Dream of Lolita. Sometimes they make perfectly fine pieces, just in lolita make sure to admit that it's a replica rather than pretend it's the real thing.

You can if you'd like! Most lolitas do use wigs, and if you have a pixie cut it might be the best. I'm growing my hair out simply because I love my hair color and plus wigs are an extra expense. If you want good wigs however they run quite a bit - lots of lolitas recommend Priscila (Priscilla?) for realistic wigs but they run $60 and up.

I think I'll get wigs some day because I think brown and black hair are beautiful and I'll never dye my hair hah.

If so it's probably Dream of Lolita. While sometimes they erase the name and sometimes they change it (I remember when researching replicas and Dream of Lolita to see if they only did replicas a print with "Angelic Preety" on it), but sometimes they leave it completely alone.
