So, I made a sketch of my lolita-UTAU concept because why not.

I think here she kinda leans more towards classic than gothic. My original plan was to make a complete gijnka of a clarinet, but I decided it really wouldn't work very well. Where would I put side keys?? I went for something that represents clarinet in both shape and print.

Shape wise, the a-line skirt looks more like the bell of a clarinet than a bell shaped skirt, the turtleneck is representative of the barrel, and the various silver accents and ruffles/petti show off the silver colored metal "rings" that are on a clarinet(I don't quite know what they're called...I was going to say joints but...). I feel like there needs to be something up top...I just don't know what.

The print there is just a little concept sketch I made up. The clarinet will definitely not be that curvy(blame the warp tool)! I plan on them being lines in a silver color similar to the accents. I plan on making that print much more detailed, and putting up the print separately so people(aka me) can just slap it onto her if they want to make art of her.

Her shoes seem to be of a dark grey...they should really be silver or black >.> Also, that hat is just there to put something on her head so she isn't bare : )

Advice? I plan on keeping this color scheme, but is there anything else that I can do to make the okay coord be "wow!"? And accessorizing tips?

Thanks! It's a crappy picture though. Hopefully I'll get better pictures when I find my camera and get at least one of my petticoats I'm waiting to receive.

I'm glad you found it helpful. Truth be told, I was really on the fence about the socks too, but because I chanced it since I'm weird and I like to watch bodyline haul videos on youtube and they said the socks were nice. The videos are generally the girls opening their packages and talking about the things as they open them and I can't remember how many videos I watched where they talked about the socks but they were saying how soft the lace on the socks were despite the crap stock photo and I decided to take their word for it. I'm glad I did!

In other news, my cinderella bunny skirt, short sleeved blouse and cinderella tote arrived. I didn't take picture yet, but I will later. I thought I'd look weird in front of my boyfriend. More than I already do.

Something tells me that the L482/L481 is one of Bodyline's more popular prints, considering the fact that the jsk colorway you want is sold out(that, and the fact that it has a very popular nickname of cinderella bunny)...

Currently, I'm thinking about saving up for a jsk in the future because my white blouse is fairly boring. However, I keep forgetting that I need to make a cosplay and save up money for the NYC Comic Con that I'll be going to in October ;_; Even then, I'm going to be spending my $20 on accessories(I plan on going to Claire's for such things). Just gotta be careful and not spend that money on Bath & Bodyworks hand sanitizer(damn 5 for $5 sales!).

The skirt and the JSK are both sold out in the colour I want which is unfortunate. I don't know if it is popular, but it has been selling since 2012, so it might be. I just know the purple one is super cute and I'm coveting the skirt and the JSK. Especially since I was able to get the tote. I want to make it a set!

I know the feeling concerning money. I'm supposed to be putting money aside for this house I'm going to buy, but my addiction to lolita says "no, you need more!" (I also need to renew my license plates soon) But I have to be a responsible person. Somewhat at least.

Holy crap, that is cute! I personally think the pink one is the cutest, though I have a thing about white/mostly white clothes. The price of the dress itself isn't bad though!

Oh yeah man, Krad Lanrete is pretty much top of the Taobao food chain. They're as expensive as brand. And their quality is just as high. But so are their prices.

And that Chess Story is so cute! The dress I want from them is still at 3 stock for size Small in Orange Powder, hopefully it stays there for a month. *cries*

I highly doubt I'll be able to get much lolita this year, as I've said because of video games all coming out (A Wii U and the six games I want will probably reach $600 alone, not to mention games like Tomodachi Life, Wonderful 101, Fantasy Life, and Mario Kart 8 which I'm on the fence about) but also I tend to impulse spend a little bit, like a piece of food every now and then to sustain myself at work, less than $5 a week. I did also go to the thrift store recently, got a lolitable pair of shoes and a blouse that will maybe work! Was incredibly sad that there were no peter pan collars. Will take pictures of the shirt and shoes.

For your UTAU I don't think you got what I meant by one piece. I'll try and do a sketch later hah. I think the hairstyle and headpiece are perfect! And the socks must have prints yes, will try to find a reference. Definetly look at the music tag on Lolibrary for inspiration man.

With the turtleneck, I kinda looked at OPs that had turtleneck built in, so that's what I assumed you meant? Eh, I'll see what you mean when you have a sketch up. That's part of the reason I wanted to ask you about it; You're the one with all of the turtlenecks! I'm thinking the socks will have a similar theme as the print, with music notes and flowers. Keeps it all together, you know?

Adorable turtleneck It looks so cute! I think you could work it into a casual coord if you have the right skirt...I wouldn't wear it with a jsk because that argyle pattern demands to be shown off! The hardest part may be(if you want to stick to an a-line skirt) finding a skirt that matches since a lot of sweet skirts are bell shaped, and that pattern leans more sweet than classic. Of course, a plain red skirt would work just fine for casual! Perhaps pair it with a light pink/light red socks too, some cute red shoes...and a cute casual coord for when you don't feel like getting dressed up!

Today I'm hitting the mall to spend some birthday money on accessories. Preferably bunny ones and rose ones : ) Not sure if I should spend $20 or $40...while I need to save up for Comic Con, I know stuff may be overpriced at the mall...hmmm...I'll be sure to take pics though.

They're usually bots. You can tell they're just spam bots because they have similar urls and they often share the same icon. It happens on Tumblr from time to time, so just ignore them and don't sweat. At one point, I had a lot of anime hentai blogs with urls of the same format(ex. clannad-hentai, ranma-hentai) follow me and some friends, so I knew they were bots. Either way, you shouldn't go to them because they might redirect you to a page with malware or a fake login page.

Anyways, in Lolita news I'll have to return to Tumblr sigh. In addition to needing to take pics of my new shirt and shoes to add to my wardrobe, my FanPlusFriend order came in and I also got my two used turtlenecks from LaceMarket!

To give a quick review, the dress turned out pretty excellent from F+F. Sizing was perfect, material was better than I was expecting actually. There were small pencil marks on the fake leather straps (so pleased that they weren't plastic), but they erased easy, some small loose strings in tiny places on a rare occassion but not much. So glad it fit so well! Being my first JSK it's very very very bizarre feeling with the petticoat under it though. It feels so huge when I know it coud be poofier. And I was worried the whole time about the length but it's perfect for my CP petti~

However, on a crazy scale of good to bad are the socks. I ordered three pairs of OTKs since I need more basics, they were dirt cheap, and didn't up my shipping, alongside a pair of opaque white tights. The tights are great and don't feel like they'll run anytime soon and are very white. However, the socks are weird. The brown ones are perfect, go up pretty high, are a great brown shade, and actually don't make my legs squish slightly like my IW ones do! The black ones are black but don't go as high as the other two - barely above my knees - and are tightish like the IW ones. A bit displeased, they'll work for now but if I ever sell used Lolita they'll definetly go; they'd be knee socks on anyone 5'6" or taller I swear. The white ones…anger me a bit. They aren't white, they're a wierd lavender/blue/trying to be white. Otherwise they're the right length and fit my legs like the brown ones but they're so not white. If I ever do another order from F+F I might buy them again and see if they're all this weird color (they were only $4 I think).

Everything from F+F came in a cute (if cheap) tote! A bit boring and brown but has some nice detailing.

For the turtlenecks, they both fit perfectly~ The ETC one was in great condition and is thinner than I thought it would be so I can wear it in autumn when it isn't cold yet. I'll need to be a bit careful with the Meta one because it's got some pilling (it was only $12 including shipping) but it's so cute!

I have work for the next few days so I'll likely slowly compile images (I'm god awful at taking selfies).

Oh god, that sketch is precious if I could just steal...but I'm always kinda wary about using brand designs in art because of my paranoia/ethics regarding using a designer's designs...I guess it's that whole omg you referenced this?? fear and feeling unoriginal and blah blah blah(or just plain ol' legal issues). Then again, there are such things as publicly available fabrics(looking at you Bodyline L560 that's $80 when you can get the original Infanta dress for less...at least if you're not buying it on Qutieland >.>)...

If you have the cash to waste, you can definitely clarinets with gold-plated keys! A benefit of the gold keys is that if your sweat is acidic, then it won't tarnish or cloud so easily unlike silver or nickel keys. In fact, when I do more concept art, I think I might take inspiration from Backun clarinets; they're some of the best clarinets out there, and they're quite beautiful! Venia, I'm happy to announce that in the mail I found a "we missed you" note in the mail! It said that the sender was "Hong Kong", so I'm assuming it's either the Anna House or Qutieland order! (though I'm thinking it's the former). However, I don't know the tracking number because my parents went out to the post office to get it.

That head bow doesn't look bad. It doesn't look too shiny in the picture, so the only thing I think you might have to worry about is taking a picture with the flash on and the fabric difference might be a tad eye catching, but again that's a maybe since I'm not sure.

Admittedly, the lighting in the stock photo dumbs down the shine a little. I should've gotten something in brown though to go with one of the Bodyline skirts. The bunny cinderella skirt comes with a detachable bow that can make an instant hair accessory, so I should've gotten something to match the other skirt >.> next time though.

Edit: OMG, I just realized that they opened up a BTSSB store in NYC!! They actually opened on my birthday! That's like, a brand store that ISN'T on the west coast! I must go. Maybe if I bug my friends enough they'll take me there during the day we're going to Comic Con. Even if I blow all my money at Comic Con, it'd be awesome to go into a real brand store!

No joke, the bow that comes with the cinderella bunny skirt is big. When I put it on a headband it looked like huge butterfly trying to eat my head!

Baby did just open a store there! If I remember right, as long as you have a blouse, or something on to wear under things I believe you can try things on, but don't hold me to that.
