Oo... I did not notice that this thread had so much activity on it. ^^;;
Does this mean that it's as simple as taking previous CVVC usage experience and throwing in some VCV?
Nope! Recording is similar to VCV, but in a very Englishy sort of way??? I've taken the idea of ending consonants to a whole new level. USTing is similar to CVVC, but there's a whole lot more going on than there used to be.
I just noticed that the VC samples kinda "eat" the whole CV sample when it crossfades...and it looks like the STP corrects for shorter notes?
Yes! This is very intentional. I spent a long time trying to come up with way to make the oto the same for each different kind of sample so that there wouldn't ever be any problems within the envelope. And I found it!
The accent on the vowel seems to be much more dependent on how it ends, rather than how it starts, so the vowels in VCCV English are going to be sounded by the VC sample as much as UTAU lets that be possible.
Also, if I may ask this too, does this directly reflect recording and configuration?
Yeees? The recordings, the configurations, and the usting is all done in a very particular way. O:
Sorry if I'm asking some really oddball questions! I'm just really excited and ready to dive on it once it's public!
It sounds like it could be a really simple in concept if someone already understands CVVC english and VCV.
It's no problem! ^__^ I want to be able to explain it better, but it's really kind of a packaged deal where I can't really think of another way to explain it, but to show how to do it all step by step... so I'm mostly just keeping it secret for now in order not to confuse people more. D;
I think it's a pretty simple concept, but it sure took a hell of a complicated route in order for me to find it. LOL
So, how do you convert usts to VCCV? I know what VCV usts look like...but I've never seen a CVVC one before. Are they similar?
Yes, and no. You start with the CVs and work your way backwards from there. O: You don't have to guess note lengths, or where anything needs to go. And I have a pretty simple method for doing it.
VCCV isn't released yet, but presumably will be converted via the autocvvc plugin once the dictionary is made for it.
A plugin would be kinda cool to make! But I feel like the dictionary would be tough. Other than that, I don't recommend trying to use a presamp for this. I think it would sort of ruin a big part of the concept... O:
