Can you provide a rendered example of what the samples sound like? I'm not sure what screechy means in this context, since there's a loooooooot of ways for UTAU to sound like that. So the audio will help me figure out what's what. It could be too much bg noise, bad frq (it happens a lot even on very hq vbs), choppy oto, ust is in the wrong key, etcetc.

I can't get the image to load properly to zoom in, so I can't see the wavform or spectrum very well, but I can say even from this view the oto looks off. The overlap and preutterance seem to be too early. Way too early in the overlaps case, and slightly for the preutterance. The overlap should be closer to the end of "bo" (without being able to make out the spectrum, I'd say put it at the end of the middle row in the spectrum), and preutterance should be right up against where the "a" in "ba" starts. Also too much space before the cutoff that may contribute to some weird rendering, though not anything that could be called screechy.

Crude image of what I'm trying to convey.

Edit: Also forgot to ask what resampler are you using? Resamplers can really affect how a vb comes out sounding, so testing out different ones, as well as various flag combinations, can help stabilize a voice.
