@bio On their twitter they mentioned that it was somebody who was very important in the history of vocal synthesis - and what would be more important than the voice that started it all?

The hardest part about doing the Voder is that recordings of it would likely be very old and they would need to do the voodoo they did with Dandy in order to cover all of the sounds to make a product that can sing. I'm sure it's not completely out of the question though.

A Microsoft Sam voice would be cool, but Viens had difficultly contacting large companies before in the past (e.g. Chrysler).

More back on topic, A/E voice imports are pretty cool, but I've been seeing a lot of people lately make a lot of assumptions about the ability to do that and the implications it brings, even though they want to implement it in the future. It may be kind of like UTAU because they asked about distributing voices and stuff through extractable files instead of installers, so that could be a possibility.

Just thinking, if anything Microsoft Sam would probably be an official Alter/Ego bank, as he's post 1984, like they said when they were announcing it. I'm not too sure about the dates of the other chips though. (also since he is free to use in speakonia and windows XP)

And yeah, I remember David saying that about voder on the live stream on crushers' channel. But since it's not completely impossible I'm pretty sure that they will do it at some point or other.

ALYS is annoucned to be featured in Zyon ! Also VoxWave is holding two contests : a design and a song ones !

Design contest (hold in collaboration with Clairefontaine ! ) :
- Starts from 10th of March until 30th of April at midnight
- You can use any technique (painting, sketching, drawing, photograph, CGI etc) with a maximum size of A4 and you MUST use a portrait setting (vertical)
- ALYS is, of course, the main theme
- Only one entry per person is allowed

Two sending options, through mail and package (VoxWave – 14 rue J.A Chevrier 77250 Veneux les Sablons or send it through e-mail at contact@voxwave.fr ) and don't forget to add a signed document with the following informations below :

- Surname Family name
-First name
- The pseudonym you want to be known as
- the following mention " J’ai pris connaissance des conditions du concours et je les accepte. J’autorise Clairefontaine et VoxWave à diffuser publiquement ma création, et à la reproduire à des fins commerciales. "

It's open to everyone, regardless of country or age


Prizes :

First place : The winning entry will be edited for a drawbook limited edition series ; your name / pseudonym will be mentioned on the drawbook and it's estimated a minimum of 5,000 copies ; Clairefontaine will also offer as gift around 500 € TTC maximum worth of papers, drawbooks and other material for a year ; Voxwave on their side will award up to 100 € worth of ALYS articles, as well as providing a collector edition of Rêve de Machine CD

Second place : Clairefontaine will offer up to 500 € worth of drawbooks, papers and other material ; Voxwave on their side will awrad up to 60 € worth of ALYS products as well, as providing a collector edition of Rêve de Machine CD

All entries will be examined by a jury made of Clairefontaine and Voxwave staffs ! Results will be known on the 1st of May and awards will be sent through mail and package

- Posting is to be done on YouTube and Soundcloud with the tag #VOCALYS2
- Original with ALYS being the main singer
- Collabs are allowed but you need to select one person who would get the award in case of winning ; said person must have the agreement of other contestants involved in the collaboration
- MP3, wav or you can also address with a direct link from Drive and Dropbox (or any other service)
- Only one entry per person allowed
- Any genre is fine so don't limit yourself to one in particular
- Of course hateful, discriminatory, insulting tunes are prohibited
- You can use either the purchased or the demo versions

- Theme : "A new hit for ALYS ! "


Prizes :

First place : The winning song will be picked and be featured on next ALYS album ; a contract as an author-composer ; a licence for any program by Voxwave or Plogue (you will choose theone you want) ; a purchase coupon (100 € worth) on ALYS catalogue, and Image-Line on their side will offer a licence for FL Studio, and more precisely the Signature Bundle Edition (289 € worth ! )

Second place : A 50 € voucher on ALYS catalogue ; Producer Edition for FL Studio (189 € worth )

Third place : A 50 € coupon on ALYs catalogue ; Fruity Edition for FL Studio ( 89 € worth )

Not sure why ALYS doesn't have her own thread so forgive me for posting it here. I saw someone comment on my status asking about an ALYS Voicebank Update :
According to Voxwave, ALYS will receive a MULTI-PITCH Alter/Ego Voicebank Update this coming Monday. They would like everyone to use this new voicebank in any VOCALYS #2 Song contest entries, hence why I will not release my entry till Monday
