Alter/Ego is officially announced to be ending after the release of Leora and Marie Ork (? whom is already release ?)

The reason for this is because the voice demand is to high whilst they are only a tiny workforce.
Super sad to hear this news

I'm sad for A/E but I'm so glad Voxwave don't have any platorm anymore to spread their bullshit voices and their bad personnality. I hope they are going to get they're things together and make a commercialised UTAU or something.

I was never interested in Alter/Ego or Chipspeech really. It's not that I dislike the concept of A/E, I dislike the selection of voices.

Well, since they can't make Alys on Cevio or Vocaloid, I don't see any other options. There is a lot of people who actually wanted Alys to stay an UTAU, including myself.
A commercialised French UTAU is not a fantasy and I'd buy her if she was.

True, plus after all, there are been the Windows 100% UTAUs a while ago (and Macnes even if they're not really UTAU by origin ) and you have a very few utaus that you don't necessarily buy, but you can buy the licence to use them for commercial works (however simple free stuff is alright so you don't need the licence in that case ) and it's probably the only left option for them (plus I4ve seen some people praising Alys' UTAU bank and finding her more emotional because of the engine difference, and the fact she was multipitch while her A/E was monopitch for a long time if I remember well )

I've never once heard needing authorization from Ameya. Can someone confirm?

edit: Windows 100% wasn't the only UTAU commercial releases. There's also Studio Ogien's UTAU banks (which I am glad to have physicals of!). There is LEXYS, which is @Kiyoteru's project and at one point I had purchased them, too. (I don't know what happened to download though, it was quite some time ago.)

Also yes we want ALYS for UTAU. She sounded better as an UTAU and she was even going to be multipitch. I think the move to A/E disappointed a lot of people.

I think they'll probably stop it all together.
Well, I think it'll still be downloadable but I don't think updates or anything new will be happening. I guess time will tell.

Honestly it seemed kinda "well these voices (MY VOICE LEORA) are important and they'll be around, who cares if they update A/E, people can still use them" and that feels kinda rude and wrong?? idk......

Just goes to show people let it get to their heads when they voice something for a software not everyone can, and it's kinda sad. At least Kenji and Aki are pretty chill about it.

Well, TBK is like a hound dog for Voxwave so I'm not surprised she answered instead of Voxwave.
It did clarify a few things though:
- A/E development is stopped.
- Voxwave cares more about fan gathering and goodies than developing their voicebanks.
- TBK is deaf and don't understand how A/E is bad.

I think Voxwave will keep on doing what their are good at: not working on their voicebanks and making albums instead.
I wish the french synth community had Aki and Kenji instead of those... things
